End-of-Life Doula Support

My goal as your end-of-life doula is to create peace of mind, comfort, and reflection for both the dying individual as well as their loved ones. I offer my clients emotional, educational, and spiritual support. My services include providing:

  • Extended periods of support, personalized attention, and continual bedside presence beyond what hospice can provide a caregiver, family, and/or loved one.

  • Emotional support for the dying and their loved ones. You will find me to be a neutral sounding board for the emotions that can surround the dying process.

  • Advocacy and communication support for pain management, self-care, and rest.

  • Reflective activities, such as creating a personalized heart will (ethical will), letter writing, or other legacy projects.

  • Guided visualization, healing touch, and ceremony to honor and create peace for all involved.

  • A personalized Vigil Plan to create a sacred space for the period of actively dying.

  • Planning memorial and life celebration gatherings.

  • Support for loved ones after death to reprocess and provide grief support.

These end-of-life services are discussed and chosen according to the client’s wishes before we begin working together.

How is an End-of-Life Doula Different from Hospice?

A doula’s work often begins before hospice is in place, but does not replace the hospice medical team. Physical needs and pain management of your dying person will be attended to by hospice.

An end-of-life doula will support the advocacy of treatment.

When Should I Call an End-of-Life Doula?

It is never too late to connect with a doula. The sooner we can enter into the process, the more time can be spent getting to know your loved one and family, creating quality care plans, and prioritizing end-of-life needs.

End-of-Life Packages

I provide a complimentary initial phone consultation where we can learn more about one another as well as the support options I can provide. There is no obligation to use my services after this consultation. If you wish to explore working together further, we will meet for two Hearts & Minds meetings.
